Shining the Spotlight on Betsy Giuffrida—Settlement Coordinator

As a Settlement Coordinator, Betsy is a problem solver, and no one day is like the other. By working with loan officers and processors, title agents, realtors, sales agents, construction management, site supervisors, customers, appraisers, and many others throughout the day, Betsy is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the settlement process are executed smoothly and efficiently. 

The journey to Kay Builders

Betsy gained years of experience within the construction industry working for a local contractor for 29 years before beginning her journey at Kay Builders. Working within office and construction management, estimating, ordering, HR, accounting and payroll, benefits and more throughout her career, Betsy has developed a wealth of knowledge and skills that have proven invaluable in her current role as a Settlement Coordinator. 

“Frankly, I was very nervous when I started at Kay—taking on a completely new role in construction,” Betsy explained. “Their faith in me was my driver. My manager just knew I was the right person for the job, and I grew into it because of my amazing team and coworkers—at Kay and our sister companies, Traditional Mortgage and Traditional Abstract.”

Helping homeowners through the process

After getting through the early days within her new role at Kay Builders, Betsy quickly began to settle in, and she has now helped countless homeowners prepare for their own settlement with tips to make the process as easy as possible for them. 

“I think the most important thing would be to keep in contact with your loan officer and make sure all requested documentation is given to them in a timely manner,” Betsy said. “If you are unsure of anything, please ask questions. Stay in contact with your sales manager for your estimated settlement window. You’ll hear from me between 30-60 days before settlement!”

As a Settlement Coordinator, Betsy receives immense satisfaction from helping individuals find their dream home and guiding them through the settlement process. Buying a home can be a complex and sometimes overwhelming process for many buyers, but with the help of the entire Kay Builders team, the outcome is always worthwhile. 

“When I know that someone loves their home and had a great experience, it is very rewarding,” Betsy explained. “It takes a lot of talented and dedicated people to make that happen, but I get to enjoy the finished product, and that product is, ultimately, a satisfied customer. I help them get to their happy place by streamlining and facilitating the process.”
