Rick Koze


After a successful fifteen-year career as a Fortune 500 executive, Rick Koze accepted the mantle of president of Kay Builders, Inc. in 2002 from his father Richard (Dick) Koze, who took the company his father had founded in 1961 and turned it into one of the more prominent family-owned construction businesses in the Lehigh Valley.

Now this third-generation owner and operator is carving out a new era for Kay Builders. Rick brings with him an extensive financial background and business savvy that has prepared him to reshape Kay Builders and continue to meet the changing demands and expectations of today's homeowner. Rick visits markets around the country to see new trends for himself, has an in-depth understanding of the housing market in the Lehigh Valley, and continues to build on the advantage of being a vertically integrated company.

Rick grew up in the construction business, becoming a regular fixture at job sites while still in elementary school. He attended Emmaus High School where he excelled in football, basketball, track and academics. He continued his football and academic careers at Yale University where he earned a B.A. in economics and a minor in chemistry.

For the next 15 years, Rick held prominent financial positions at Fortune 500 companies. From 1986-1991, he served as a debt-rating analyst in the transportation industry for Standard & Poor's and then worked as a risk manager for Merrill Lynch in New York for two years. In 1993, he moved to Atlanta to become vice president of mergers and acquisitions for ChoicePoint. There he led more than 60 acquisitions and divestitures, and helped boost the company's market capitalization from $600 million to more than $3.5 billion.

As a resident and businessman in the Lehigh Valley, Rick supports several local initiatives including the Boys Scouts of America - Minsi Trail Council and the Burn Prevention Foundation, which provides burn injury prevention education for those at greatest risk in eastern Pennsylvania.

Brian McKendry

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Brian joined Kay Builders in 2015. As the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Brian leads the teams in our Marketing Department and all of our communities in the Lehigh and Bucks County.

As an accomplished sales and marketing professional, Brian has 17 years of distinguished performance in the real estate and new homes industry. He has a broad-based background encompasses an exceptional work ethic and commitment to organizational objectives.

He is excited to be a part of the Kay Builders Family and looks forward to growing the company.

Dave Foraker

Vice President of Operations

Dave joined Kay Builder in 2012. As the Vice President of Operations, Dave is responsible for managing the production team on all day-to-day operations at all of our residential communities. He manages the warranty department and is responsible for acquiring experienced and reputable contractors for all building aspects.

At age 20, Dave began working in the construction industry. He started out as a concrete mason and moved onto framing after about 8 year. As a framing manager, Dave was responsible for scheduling and managing 20 to 30 different contractors over 3 communities. After about 10 years, he decided to join Kay builders as a Site Superintendent at our Trio Fields community. After 3 years Dave accepted the position of VP of Operations.

Dave enjoys working with Kay Builders because it gives him the opportunity to utilize his skills everyday. With 60 years in business, Kay Builders has shown their strength and ability to grow. Dave loves being part of a team that is striving for excellence. He looks forward to a great future with Kay Builders.

Greg Heck

Vice President of Finance

Greg joined Kay Builders in May 2016. As the Vice President of Finance, Greg is responsible for managing Kay's banking relationships and projecting the company's financial performance into the future.

After earning his MBA in Corporate Finance from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Greg spent 6 years in commercial banking. Most recently, he worked for a commercial real estate developer in Wilmington, Delaware.

Greg is excited about this opportunity to help grow Kay Builders into one of the preeminent home builders in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Ed Di Lello

Vice President of Site Development

Ed joined Kay Builders in 2016. As the Vice President of Site Development, he oversees engineering, planning and site development from conceptual stage through completion.

Ed provides the day-to-day leadership and management of field personnel as well the overall direction and scheduling of subcontractors. He also maintains an ample supply of improved lots to support home sales in multiple Kay communities throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Ed has over 20 years of experience in Site Development, including Residential, Commercial and Public projects. He has held many positions over the years as a labor, foreman, estimator, project manager and now VP of Site Development.

Ed is excited and proud to work at a company that has been around for over 60 years spanning 3 generations. He looks forward to using all of his experience and adding to the Kay Team and supporting their continued success.

Mabél Raymond

Vice President of Administration

Mabél joined Kay Builders in 2016. With her vast knowledge of the new construction industry, Mabél is a great asset to the Kay Builders team in her role.

Holding both a New Jersey and Pennsylvania Real Estate license, Mabél brings with her 17 years of real estate experience, predominantly in new construction and real estate auctions where she was Senior Director of Project Management specializing in condominiums and luxury homes.

Mabél graduated from Lehigh Carbon Community College and is an Accredited Luxury Home Specialist.

She is excited to be a part of the Kay Builders Team because each day is more dynamic than the day before.

Shannon Cawley

Vice President of Design and Drafting

Shannon Cawley joined Kay Builder's production team in 2008. While managing the Design & Drafting Department, he specializes in home construction, design, permitting, cost analysis and pricing.

Shannon is currently working on seven Lehigh Valley sites: Trio Fields in Lower Nazareth, Laurel Field and Trexler Field in Upper Macungie Township, Lockridge in Alburtis, Blue Ridge Chase in Upper Saucon Township, Indian Creek in Emmaus/Upper Milford, and Heather Glen, a commercial project in Upper Macungie.

Shannon has 23 years of home-building and design experience. He attended the Pingry School, holds a B.A. in architecture from Lehigh University and, is a long-time resident of the Lehigh Valley.

Sandy Sekerak

Sales Manager | The Fields at Indian Creek

Sandy joined Key Builders in 1999 and is the Sales Manager at The Fields at Indian Creek. Sandy enjoys working with buyers and helping them customize various features throughout their new home.

Sandy has been a licensed Realtor since 1998. She has 20 years of sales experience, most of which has been selling residential properties.

She enjoys working at Kay Builders because they build high-quality homes and they are a local, family-run business. Sandy believes that excellent service is the key to success and that it brings in repeat business. She stresses to potential buyers that Kay Builders offers truly CUSTOM-i-ZABLE homes, in an excellent location, and at a very competitive price.

Linda Minnich

Sales Manager | Parkview Estates & Scenic View West

Linda has successfully started and completed 4 New Home communities with over 425 new home sales at Kay Builders. With over 27 years of experience Linda has served as a Director for the Lehigh Valley Board of Realtors, President of the program committee and served on the grievance committee and Arbitration Board. She is also a lifetime Par Excellence Award Member along with ranking in the top 5% of all agents nationwide, earning her a Gold Society award.

Born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, she is the mother of 2 grown sons and 2 granddaughters. Her expertise is in new home construction and her market area is Nazareth, PA.

As a New Home development agent, Linda enjoys interacting with developers, contractor, builders, attorneys and mortgage companies and has received numerous awards for her track record and for top sales performance and customer satisfaction.

James "Jimmy" Blewitt

Sales Manager | The Fields at Blue Barn Meadows

James joined Kay Builders in 2014. He enjoys working in connection with new home buyers and walking them step by step through the process of purchasing a new construction home. He also enjoys working directly with production to assure time lines and quality standards are not only met but also to the standards of the individual needs of the buyer.

James has a BS in Communications with a Marketing minor from Penn State University. He has had 9 years of resale experience in the Lehigh Valley both residential and commercial.

He enjoys working for a reputable builder. Being family owned and operated has given "Jimmy" the opportunity to further expand his knowledge of Real Estate in the focused areas of new construction sales and land development.

Frankie Johnson

Sales Manager | The Fields at Jasper Ridge

Frankie Johnson joined Kay Builders in 2016. She is currently the Sales Manager at our newest community located in Emmaus, The Fields at Jasper Ridge.

With over 20 years of experience in the Real Estate Industry, Frankie's specialty is in New Home Construction and enjoys every second of it.

Frankie is passionate about helping buyers build their dream home and enjoys assisting her clients every step of the way. She is proud to work for a reputable family-owned business that's one of the leading builders in the Lehigh Valley.

Joe Lorah

Sales Manager | The Fields at Constitution Square

Joe Lorah joined Kay Builders in 2019 as a member of the Sales Team at The Fields at Constitution Square in Perkasie.

With over 30 years of experience in the Custom Home Building and Real Estate Industry, Joe prides himself in being of service to all buyers in creating the perfect home for their lifestyle.

Virginia Youravich

Sales Manager | Trio Fields

Virginia joined Kay Builders in 2018 as a Sales Assistant for the Trio Fields and Scenic View communities, both located in Nazareth. In addition, Virginia will be part of the Online Concierge team that guides our customers through the initial buying process and ultimately into the community that best suits their needs.

As a realtor for the past 4+ years, Virginia has gained a wealth of knowledge in working through the home buying process and specializes in making each of her clients feel like they are a priority. She feels open and honest communication are of utmost importance in such a large purchase.

Virginia is excited to be a part of the Kay Builders family because as a resident of the Lehigh Valley for over 30+ years, she has seen Kay's growth and is thrilled to continue to grow with them in this amazing journey.

Pam Rowe

Sales Manager | The Fields at RiverHill

Pam joined Kay Builders in 2020 as a Sales Manager for The Fields at RiverHill. She has over 28 years of Real Estate experience managing new home communities for both small local builders and large publicly traded builders.

Throughout her career, Pam has had many accomplishments including Sales Manager of the Year & Highest Dollar Volume 2 years in a row. She has also achieved the Sales Manager of the year aware multiple times and was selected for the Top Gun Program.

Pam enjoys working with buyers to unlock their wish list and bring to life their dream home. She is excited to be working with Kay Builders and looks forward to many years of making homeowners dreams come true.

Gina Stango

Director of Marketing

Gina joined the Kay Builders Team in 2018 as the Director of Marketing. Gina has worked in the New Home Sales, Residential and Commercial Real Estates resale arenas as well as the Mortgage Industry in Marketing. Her experience and knowledge in many areas of real estate allow her to see the whole picture of new home sales and how each division plays a big part in the home buying experience. She enjoys using her creative energy to bring attention to all the details that are so important when you are building a new home.

Gina believes working for a local builders allows you to really learn about the area and the communities being created. Marketing new neighborhoods allows her to share and really tell a story about all the amazing places in the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County where you can build your custom-i-zable home with Kay Builders.

With all of the growth and new communities in the pipeline for Kay Builders, Gina is excited to take part in leading up the Marketing efforts as the company continues to grow and expand into new projects.

Nicole Serino

Marketing Coordinator

Nicole joined Kay Builders in 2018 as a Sales Assistant for both The Fields at Jasper Ridge and Trexler Field communities. Nicole is also a part of our Online Sales Concierge team, an important role that guides prospective buyers in their search for a new home!

Nicole recently moved back to the Lehigh Valley after living in Chicago for 12 years! She is happy to be back closer to her family and friends in her hometown that has grown so much over the years.

Nicole is excited to be working for such a reputable company that exudes small-town family values and impressive big city dreams.

Patricia Fisco

Sales Assistant

Patricia joined Kay Builders in 2019 as a Sales Assistant for our Trio Fields community in Nazareth. Patricia is also a part of our Online Sales Concierge team, an important role that guides prospective buyers in their search for a new home!

Patricia has 30 years experience in Real Estate Sales. She is originally form Staten Island, NY and moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2004.

Patricia is excited to be working at Kay Builders helping homebuyers build their dream home. When she is not busy working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 children and her grandchild.

Betsy Giuffrida

Settlement Coordinator

Betsy is new to Kay Builders and looking forward to working in this new department in the construction industry. She has been in the construction industry for 30 years as a bookkeeper and office manager for a drywall contractor.

Betsy loves working with homeowners and helping them through the details as they prepare for buying their Kay Builders home.

Kate Follweiler

Design Studio Showroom Manager

Kate became a part of the Kay Builders team in 2018, when she relocated back to the Lehigh Valley after living in Florida for the past 31 years.

Kate holds her degree in Interior Design from Indian River State College and even though she enjoyed working in interior design firms, her love has always been the architectural side of design, so in the year of 2000, she moved into the field of residential building.

Over her career with three unique builders, from production to semi-custom to high-end custom, she has held positions as a Selections Coordinator and then Design Studio Director, where she guided her team and more than 1,000 homeowners through the sometimes arduous, but always exciting journey from structural and electrical customization to the interior finishes of their home.
In her last position with Kolter Homes in Florida, she held the position of liaison to the outside architectural firms ensuring that hundreds of floor plans in 10 communities across the state were consistent, accurate and up to the company's standard of innovative design. As part of Architectural and Planning, she made it her main objective to work closely with all departments, such as Purchasing, Sales, Design, Production and Marketing to achieve a flow throughout departments.
Kate believes in order to be a true professional in any field, the most important action you can take is to be mindful of those who need you to do your best work so they can do theirs.

Kate hopes her unique perspective and experience of having worked in these different aspects of the home building process will serve Kay Builders in many years to come.

Tereza Smith

Design Studio Coordinator

Tereza became a part of the Kay Builders team in 2020. She has 25 years of prior experience in the Real Estate Industry as a multiple award-winning Sales Manager for a Fortune 500 Company, as well as within the property management industry.

In her previous roles she consistently attended numerous Interior Design courses, eager to hone her design skills and abilities.

Tereza enjoys working with homebuyers and helping them through the process of selecting the best possible options for their new homes. Helping buyers figure out their taste in interior designs .

Mary Macklin

Design Studio Coordinator

Mary Macklin joined Kay Builders in September 2019 in the Production department. With over 20 years in the New Home Industry, mainly in Administrative and Sales positions, Mary has worked with some of the region's most successful Builders and Real Estate companies. She was previously certified as a Home Stager & Re-designer.

Mary's sales success was based on the comfort level she instilled in her customers during the home buying process. While working in Sales, she favored the selection process and helping buyers create the home of their dreams.

Mary is looking forward to helping Kay Builders' Homeowners create their dream homes.

Jon Lamberton Jr.

Site Superintendent

Jon joined Kay Builders in 2013 as a punch out technician. Working his way up, Jon is now the Site Superintendent in our Laurel Field Community in Allentown and The Fields At Lockridge Community in Alburtis.

In his role at Kay Builders, he coordinates the contractors and inspectors during the production process. Making sure to combine all of our customers needs and wants into their new home is his goal.

Having worked in the industry for 20+ years, Jon is excited to be working for a local builder!

Ed Flippin

Site Superintendent

Ed joined Kay Builders in 2014. He is the Site Superintendent of Trio Fields located in Nazareth, a community building Singles and Townhomes.

Ed oversees all aspects of new home construction.

Ed has over 20 years of experience in home and commercial construction throughout the area.

His favorite part about his position is the excitement a homeowner has when they receive keys to their new home! As Ed states, "it makes you feel you've done something good for someone!"

Christopher Bliss

Site Superintendent

Chris joined Kay Builders in 2015 and is currently the Site Superintendent at our Trexler Field Community in Breinigsville, PA. Chris' duties are to review plans and options for homes under construction. He schedules, meets with and checks all work performed by sub-contractors. Chris also meets with buyers prior to and during the construction process to ensure the home is built to code and according to the blueprints.

Chris graduated from Northwestern Lehigh School and later went on to attend CIT Career Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Kay team, Chris ran a successful Residential Construction business for 17 years.

Chris enjoys being a part of the Kay Builders' construction team and working with highly qualified individuals in his field. His interests include hunting, fishing, Coaching and being a leader in his community.

Glenn Cox

Warranty Manager

Glenn joined Kay Builders in 2015 as our Warranty Manager bringing over 20 years of warranty experience in the new home construction industry.

In his role as Warranty Manager, he communicates with homeowners post settlement to evaluate and answer warranty questions that arise. He also schedules and manages the completion of repairs needed.

Glenn is a New Jersey Shore native having worked in the new construction industry in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Glenn enjoys the team work atmosphere at Kay Builders and is proud that the company is constantly striving to improve.

Elmer Horvath

Customer Service

Elmer Horvath joined Kay Builders in 2007 as our Service Technician.

Elmer has been in the residential construction business for almost 20 years and is well versed in all phases of the construction process.

Once the homeowner occupies their home, Elmer handles all warranty-related issues and repairs for the home. It is that extensive knowledge that Kay Builders taps into every day to make sure all its building activities run smoothly, effectively and efficiently.

Before joining Kay Builders in 2007, Elmer worked for residential builders in Bucks and Northampton counties, including the K. Hovnanian Corp. and the Elliot Building Group. He spent a few years running his own company, which ranged from trouble-shooting to home improvement.

Mickey Langan

Warranty Assistant

Mickey Langan joined Kay Builders in 2017 as a part of our customer service department. In her role she working with Kay Builders homeowners making sure they are satisfied with their new home at all times.

Mickey enjoys working for Kay Builders because every day is a challenge. She has the opportunity to meet new people on a daily basis and help solve problems they may have with their home through the Warranty department.

You can always find Mickey with a smile on her face willing to help out wherever she can.

Ken Plarr

Design and Drafting

Ken recently joined the Kay Builders team in early May of 2016. Ken works in the Design and Drafting department. He has over 35 years of Design and Drafting experience in the residential Construction field. Ken attended Northampton County Community College and studied Architectural Technologies.

Most recently, he lead the Design Team for a local Custom Home Builder for over 25 years. Ken is married with 2 children and 4 grandchildren. His hobbies include grilling, cooking and designing new recipes for his wife's home canning business. Ken is excited to work for Kay Builders!

Sarah Borowski

Design & Drafting

Sarah Borowski joined Kay Builders in 2011 as a part of the Design and Drafting team. On a daily basis, Sarah draws floor plans based on the modifications requested by our homeowners; this is where our CUSTOM-i-ZABLE options originate!
Sarah also plays a key role in designing new base plans for upcoming communities and assists the field crew with drawings needed for permits.

Sarah graduated with an Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting and has been perfecting her skills in the industry since 1996.

Sarah loves working for Kay Builders because of her passion for New Home Construction and enjoys designing and drafting for a family-owned business!

Brian Atherholt

Vice President of Purchasing

Brian joined Kay Builders in 2013. As the V.P. of Purchasing, Brian is responsible for purchasing and estimating for all of the Kay Builders subdivisions as well as their commercial projects.

Brian attended Kutztown University where he majored in Business Management.

Brian enjoys being an important contributor to the growing success of Kay Builders.

John D'Alessandro


John D'Alessandro plays a key role with Kay Builders as its accounting specialist managing accounts receivable and payable, payroll and financing, as well as the quarterly taxes and the monthly closing of the books.

John also is the IT specialist, overseeing the company's systems, network and e-mail and can trouble shoot any minor computer glitches that may come up.

John joined Kay Builders in 2004 after working for four years with Sycamore Construction in Quakertown, Pa. He holds a B.S. in accounting from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa.

Ethel Gery

Office Manager

Ethel Gery has been part of the Kay Builders team for 45 years. She has done nearly every job possible and has worked in offices on Highland Avenue, in Shepherd Hills and now on Hamilton Boulevard.

She has seen the company grow continuously over the past four decades and is very proud of all that she has contributed to that growth.

Currently this Allentown Business College graduate helps out with the financial side of the business. She closes out the company.
