At Kay Builders, we’re proud to be Lehigh Valley’s local builder. We build vibrant, active communities here in one of the most desirable real estate areas in the entire country.

When you buy a new home, you want to create a lifestyle filled with opportunities to relax, connect, explore, and enjoy life. The Lehigh Valley has so many great activities and amenities, it’s easy to see why the area has become so popular among home buyers.

The wineries throughout the Lehigh Valley are a great example. You’ll find scenic vineyards tucked into rolling hills, lively tasting rooms with amazing music, and an impressive variety of quality wines. In this article, we’ll look at some of the many wineries that choose to call the Lehigh Valley home. Many of them are super convenient to Kay Builders communities!

The Lehigh Valley: A True Wine Destination in Pennsylvania

The Lehigh Valley has become a popular spot for wine lovers. Thanks to the area’s fertile soil, scenic countryside, and favorable climate, local vineyards produce a wide variety of high quality wines ranging from crisp whites and refreshing rosés to rich reds and sparkling selections.

Many Lehigh Valley wineries are family-owned, creating a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can enjoy handcrafted wines while taking in picturesque views of vineyards, farmland, and rolling hills. Best of all, if you live in the Lehigh Valley, you can visit these remarkable wineries whenever you want!

You can easily spend a Saturday afternoon exploring wineries, enjoying outdoor patios, listening to live music, or attending seasonal harvest festivals. For a wine-lover living in the Lehigh Valley, this kind of lifestyle feels like a relaxing, rejuvenating getaway without needing to leave home

Our Favorite Local Wineries

The Lehigh Valley features a diverse collection of wineries, each with its own personality and charm. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or simply enjoy a relaxing evening with friends, there’s something for everyone.

You’ll find wineries all around the Lehigh Valley. For easier reference, we’ve broken them out by geographic location:

Berks County/Western Lehigh County

As you leave the Allentown metro area and head west toward Kutztown, you find beautiful, gentle rolling hills and lots of fertile farmland. This is the perfect spot for quality wineries! These wineries are a short drive from several Kay Builders communities including The Fields at Brookside in Macungie, The Fields at Twin Run in Upper Milford, and The Fields at Indian Creek in Emmaus.

Folino Estate (Kutztown): Enjoy fine Italian dining either inside or on the patio overlooking scenic countryside views. You can taste a variety of handcrafted red and white wines that are all produced on premises.

Domaine Pterion Vineyard and Winery (Macungie): An historic, 60-acre farm that includes a 15-acre vineyard specializing in dry, European-style wines.

Stony Run (Breinigsville): Considered an oasis for wine lovers, the Cellar by Stony Run is an exceptional Pennsylvania wine experience. Enjoy wine flights with charcuterie boards, or sample award-winning wines by the glass or bottle.

Clover Hill (Breinigsville): This popular winery features a variety of wines ranging from dry to sweet and everywhere in between. They often have live music and food trucks for you to enjoy with a glass of your favorite wine.

Northampton County

These eastern Pennsylvania wineries lie fairly close to the New Jersey border. The fertile land and great climate here encourage quality wines. These breweries are an easy drive from The Fields at Lafayette Way Active Adult Community in Forks Township:

Easton Wine Project (Easton): Unlike most of these breweries that live in the countryside, the Easton Wine Project is a local urban winery in historic downtown Easton, Pa. There is so much to see and do in Easton, including shopping, dining, and frequent festivals. You can easily add a stop for a glass of wine on your travels.

Franklin Hill Vineyards (Bangor): Planted in 1976, Franklin Hill holds the distinction of being the oldest winery and vineyard in the region. They craft their rich flavors to be approachable even for a new wine drinker. Whether you’re a wine aficionado or just want to relax on a Saturday afternoon, you’ll find the perfect wine here.

Tolino Vineyards (Bangor): Tolino is a family-owned winery with two locations nearby. Visit their vineyard in Bangor for both indoor or outdoor seating, or stop by the Easton Public Market to sit and relax while shopping or grab a few bottles to take home.

As the area’s only 3rd generation, family-owned builder, we’re proud of everything the Lehigh Valley has to offer. Our wineries add to the region’s unique culture by providing beautiful spaces for relaxation, connection, and celebration. We hope you enjoy these wineries as you get to know and love this area!
