Giving Back in our Community—Our 2022 Food and Supply Drive

The holiday season provides the ideal time for us all to take a moment and give back to the communities we love. As a proud local builder throughout the Lehigh Valley for over six decades, our team at Kay Builders has always valued being a part of this incredible community, and we take pride in being able to support local organizations and help our neighbors in any way that we are able to. 

In the past, our team has put together a food drive throughout our company and active communities to donate the proceeds to local food banks within the area. Our last food drive was held in 2018, and we were able to collect 750 pounds of food to donate. This year, however, we were able to more than double that previous total.

This year, our Food & Supply drive ran from Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 13. The combined effort and dedication put forward from our Kay Builders’ homeowners, our staff, our families as well as our friends at Traditional Mortgage, Traditional Abstract and Heather Glen Senior Living enabled us to donate nearly 2,000 pounds of food in total to two amazing organizations around the area. With this drive, we were able to donate 1,635 pounds of food to Second Harvest and over 30 grocery bags to Bucks County Housing Group in Doylestown, PA. 

Being able to deliver the food in person to both of these incredible organizations was something our team will never forget, and being able to help so many local families in need makes us incredibly proud that we are a part of such a wonderful and caring community. This year, our new home communities that participated in this Food and Supply Drive were The Fields at Willow Brook, The Fields at RiverHill, The Fields at Jasper Ridge, The Fields at Blue Barn Meadows, The Fields at Indian Creek, The Fields at Constitution Square and Parkview Estates.

Giving back to the community we love

Putting together this food and supply drive was one of our favorite things to do this year, and we are grateful for every individual who was able to donate to this important cause. At Kay Builders, we strive to be so much more than a homebuilder, and our team works day in and day out to help our community thrive. As we continue to look to the future, we are constantly discussing how we can continue our community outreach work throughout the Lehigh Valley, and we have an exciting event that is currently in the works.
