History
Perkasie is a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; 35 miles north of Philadelphia. Establishments in the borough early in the twentieth century included silk mills, brickyards, lumber mills, tile works, a stone crusher, and manufactures of cigars, tags and labels and wire novelties. The town of Perkasie derive its name from the Lenape Unami phrase Pèhpahkàsink/Poekskossing which translates to 'One who goes to the place to crack nuts'. The Dutch/Swedish (before the British settlements) pronounced the word with an r and it stuck. There was doubtless a village on the site of the present town before William Penn’s Perkasie Manor was settled.
Between 1920 and 1950, a factory at 815 Chestnut Street produced millions of hand stitched major-league baseballs through a Hubbert/Spalding contract. The building was subsequently converted into the Senior Citizens Center, which has since moved to the neighboring borough of Silverdale. It is now scheduled to be converted to six two-bedroom condominiums by Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County to provide a new start for families in need. The organization plans to utilize green building techniques while preserving the building's historical exterior.

Location
The location is in the heart of Perkasie surrounded by shopping, restaurants and minutes away from Grand View Hospital. The borough is bordered on each side by state roads 563, 313 and 309. 152 runs through the center of the borough. the nearest Interstate Highway are I-476, I-276 and I-78. The nearest airport is Pennridge Airport, a public general aviation airport with one 4,200-foot long runway.

From Southern New Jersey: 676 N Via Exit 2 toward Ben Franklin Bridge/Camden. Stay Straight to go onto I 676 W/US 30W. Stay Straight to go onto I-76W. Merge onto I-476 N Via Exit 331B Toward Plymouth Mtg(Portions toll). Take Exit 31 A Toward PA-63 W/Sumneytown Pike. Turn Right onto Wambold Rd. Turn Left onto Allentown Road, and then an immediate Right onto Mininger Rd. Turn right onto Cowpath Rd, and then an immediate left onto E. Township Line Rd. Turn left onto Bethlehem Pike Rd. Turn right onto PA-113. Turn left onto PA-152 N/N Walnut St. Destination will be on your right.

From New York: Take ramp toward Lincoln Tunnel/NJ Merge onto Lincoln Tunnel Expy. Take Lincoln Tunnel (Crossing into NJ). Lincoln Tunnel Becomes New Jersey 495W (Portion Toll). NJ 495 W becomes New Jersey turnpike/ I-95 S. (Portion toll). Keep right to take New Jersey Turnpike/I-95 S (Portion toll). Merge onto I-78 toward Newark Airport /US-1 /US-9/US-22 /Clinton (Portion Toll). Keep left to take I-78 (Express) W toward Clinton (Portions toll). I-78 (Express) W becomes I-78W (Portions toll) crossing into Pennsylvania. Merge onto PA-309 Via Exit 60A toward PA 309 S/Quakertown. Take slight Exit on right towards Sellersville/Perkasie. Turn left onto Forrest Rd. Turn right onto Old Bethlehem Pike. From Allentown: Start out going, east on Hamilton St toward S. Law Street. Turn right onto 3rd St. S 3rd St becomes Basin Street. Basin St becomes S 4th Street. S 4th St becomes S. Pike Ave. S Pike Ave becomes PA-309. Continue on PA-309S towards Quakertown. Take slight Exit on right towards Sellersville/Perkasie. Turn left onto Forrest Rd. Turn right onto Old Bethlehem Pike. Turn left onto S 3rd St. Turn right onto W. Walnut St. Destination is on left.
